Grove Education Foundation For Excellence (GEFFE) Fall Grants totaling $27, 275 awarded to school on 12/12/2007

Superintendent Tom Stein accepts check from GEFFE for $27,275 from GEFFE Board Members Lynn Pagels, Carmel Swartz and Becky Rutter, for the entire fall grant awards.

Anita Highley and her Preschool class were excited to be awarded a grant check for $1,000 from GEFFE to fund the grant “Decorative Ideas & Teaching w/ Die Cuts”, which will provide die cut templates for the entire Early Childhood Center.

The Lower Elementary Principal was excited to accept a $2,800 check to implement the “Grove Lower Elementary Morning News”, which will show case students daily at the LE. Terri Guthridge and a Grove 1st grade class were excited to receive $940 for the music program grant “Imagination Station”.

Teacher Charlene Bailey and Upper Elementary Principal Shelly Barnes accepting $2,110 check to implement an innovative program “Creating Student Teachers”. GEFFE Board Member, Kristy Allen and Mrs. Bailey’s fourth grade class are excited about this new program.

5th grade teacher Cathy Carper and Upper Elementary Principal Shelly Barnes receive $1,010 check to purchase an overhead projector to help bring Social Studies maps and information to life for her students. The projector connects to the internet to bring current information into the classroom. Presenting the grant are GEFFE Board Members Carmel Swartz and Kristy Allen.

Upper Elementary teachers Miranda Woods & Marcie Hill receive grant for $532 to purchase math, reading and social studies games for their class and after school tutoring program. The Middle School Math Department accepts $10,020 to purchase 3 Smart Boards. Smart Boards are the latest technology helping teachers’ present better information to our students.
