The Grove Education Foundation for Excellence (GEFFE) was established in the fall of 1997 by a group of concerned citizens who wanted to help advance educational excellence in Grove Public Schools. In a few short months, GEFFE was established as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, adopted bylaws, organized a charter board, and held its first annual fund-raising banquet. With the proceeds raised from the first banquet in 1998, GEFFE awarded its first two grant cycles and the benefits of GEFFE had begun.
GEFFE continues to hold one major fund-raiser, the GEFFE GALA, each spring. With hard work from its board and the generosity of the community of Grove, GEFFE has awarded over $700,000 in grants to teachers and established an endowment fund that will someday provide the funding of grants to Grove teachers far into the future.
